2.0 Tools for the 21st Century Classroom
Description:
Information,
Communications & Technology Literacy skills increasingly are being
recognized
as the
skills that separate students who are prepared for complex life and work
environments in a technology
and
media-suffused environment, marked by access to an abundance of information,
rapid
changes in
technology tools, and those who are not. This 30-hour course is framed around
the use of
current digital
technologies for engaging and challenging students in learning and applying 21st
century
communication and
collaboration skills. Through practical, hands-on application of Web 2.0 tools,
participants
will explore
how to effectively embed digital technology and communication tools within
classroom
activities to
enhance instruction and assessment.
Skills/Observable
Outcomes: Participants will be able to integrate Web 2.0 applications into
classroom
learning
activities that are appropriately matched to content standards and that enhance
student information
literacy skills.
